Filinvest Land to put up business Hotel in Davao City

DAVAO CITY—Filinvest Land will construct a businessman’s hotel here this year.

Tristan Las Marias, Filinvest vice president for the Visayas and Mindanao, said the hotel will rise in uptown Buhangin and will cater mainly to business travelers.

Project details have yet to be finalized but he said the hotel will not cater to conventions and other functions. “This is not like the common hotels that we have. We won’t hold conventions or similar functions.” He said construction will likely proceed in the third quarter of the year. Filinvest held its groundbreaking ceremony Friday to start the construction of two condominium buildings in a 2.3-hectare property on Ecowest Drive in Ecoland Subdivision in Matina, south of downtown.

  1. ang maliit? gawin kaya nilang high rise yan tapos lagyan nila ng convention center…kulang na kulang ng convention centers ang davao na kya mag accommodate ng big events no…

  2. it should be big! hwag lang maliit ui…ang dami ng small hotels sa davao tapos konti pa lang big hotels.. we even only have one major international hotel player in davao which is marco. though we now have microtel, its so small naman din..its high time din na major resort players invest in samal and talikud islands! we only have the world renowned pearl farm resort and nothing else, the rest are small players, its good though that we have the pending construction of playa azaleya and holiday ocean view…
