Davao City is the crown jewel of the Philippines - constatly listed as one of the most desirable cities in Asia to live in, and for good reason. Davao enjoys a weather that remains soothing most of the year. Its climate is characterized by a uniform annual distribution of rainfall, temperature, humidity, and air pressure.
Davao is typhoon-free. Protected by several mountain ranges, Davao is virtually out of the typhoon belt.
This discerning characterisitcs, makes Davao unique from the rest of the archipelago. Davao being virtually typhoon-free, lightweight clothing is a must. Whatever your purpose, Davao is the ideal destination to look forward to.
Davao City is populated by an even mix of tribes, from all over the Philippine archipelago and traders from the four corners of the world. The average Davaweño can easily converse and understand English, and it is fluent Tagalog and Bisaya or Cebuano.
The solemn rituals of the tribes, their rhythmic dance steps and chanting music are intimately interwoven with the rich customs and traditions of migrants. There are two main festivals, the Araw Ng Dabaw Celebrations every March and the Kadayawan Festival in August.
Apart from the fabled jeepney, taxicabs are plenty as well. One can avail of the numerous rent-a-cars. Just ask the hotel personnel.
There are a lot of places to stay all over city. It's not hard to find comfortable lodgings that suited your need. From 3 to 5 stars hotels.

Take your pick among fast food, Chinese cooking, Filipino Dishes, Continental cuisine, Fresh seafood, deserts of sandwich and burgers. Formal dining is also available in hotels and large restaurants at very reasonable rates. Major credit cards are accepted.
