no malls?
is NCCC not interested in putting up a mall in mati? it could bring them fortunes! hehe
no malls in mati?? i thot merong gaisano doon..
i believe mati’s status as a city was reverted to a municipality, right? the Supreme Court already denied with finality the motion for reconsideration filed by the petitioners constituting the 16 cities whose citihood status were revoked by the court.
It’s sad that one of the 16 cities came from Davao. If Mati has malls like NCCC and Gaisano, it could have remained its city status.
LGU cancels P100M projects in Mati
THE local government unit (LGU) of Mati has cancelled the P100 million worth of programs, projects and activities scheduled for this year.
This happened after the Supreme Court (SC) ruled that the laws creating Mati and 15 other new cities were null and void.
Reports reaching Sun.Star Davao showed that the SC decision would result to the cancellation of 3,500 jobs in Mati.
Last week, Mati LGU immediately terminated the services of 300 casual employees. However, the termination was only a usual process as the LGU is about to hire or re-hire new casuals.
The League of 16, which refers to the newly created cities including Mati, said they would exhaust all remedies in their fight for their cityhood.

Newly created 16 cities back to municipality due to the increased income requirement from PhP20 million to PhP 100 million in sec. 450 of the Local Government Code (LGC), as amended by RA 9009.
Mga taga MAti.. maghintay lang kayo.. may awa ang Panginoon.. pray kayo na bulungan cla ni Lord na magtayo ng mall dyan… (n_n)
