Davao City is the crown jewel of the Philippines - constatly listed as one of the most desirable cities in Asia to live in, and for good reason. Just right beside the the enchanting Mount Apo and the Island Garden City of Samal, Davao City is well known as a leader in peace and order and environmental issues, and is a "Green" city in every respect.
Sports and recreational venues, educational opportunities, cultural events and institutions, and a robust commerce augment the seat of Davao City.

Davao enjoys a weather that remains soothing most of the year. Its climate is characterized by a uniform annual distribution of rainfall, temperature, humidity, and air pressure.
Davao is typhoon-free. Protected by several mountain ranges, Davao is virtually out of the typhoon belt.
This discerning characterisitcs, makes Davao unique from the rest of the archipelago. Davao being virtually typhoon-free, lightweight clothing is a must. Whatever your purpose, Davao is the ideal destination to look forward to.
Davao City is populated by an even mix of tribes, from all over the Philippine archipelago and traders from the four corners of the world. The average Davaweño can easily converse and understand English, and it is fluent Tagalog and Bisaya or Cebuano.
The solemn rituals of the tribes, their rhythmic dance steps and chanting music are intimately interwoven with the rich customs and traditions of migrants. There are two main festivals, the Araw Ng Dabaw Celebrations every March and the Kadayawan Festival in August.
Apart from the fabled jeepney, taxicabs are plenty as well. One can avail of the numerous rent-a-cars. Just ask the hotel personnel.
There are a lot of places to stay all over city. It's not hard to find comfortable lodgings that suited your need. From 3 to 5 stars hotels.

there is a problem in davao… it lacks hotels!
Sayang, there is a good number of foreigners who are interested to visit davao thru chartered flights but their number could not be accommodated by our hotels! so sad…sana the international hotel chains would immediately respond to this..and so are the existing hotels in the city, they should add more rooms and upgrade their facilities to international standards so we can be at par with other big asian cities…
so shame for the operators of the davao international airport for imposing additional charges to airline companies in the use of the tubes…kakahiya,,,
